What makes Pillar Healthspan different from a traditional primary care clinic?
1
Traditional healthcare often focuses on diagnosing and treating disease after it develops. Pillar Healthspan emphasizes proactive prevention, longitudinal health tracking, and direct physician access while continuing to provide comprehensive primary care.
Our goal is not only to treat illness but also to help patients preserve health, maintain function, and optimize their long-term healthspan.
Is Pillar Healthspan concierge medicine?
2
Why would I pay for Pillar Healthspan if I already have insurance?
We operate a membership-based model that provides enhanced physician access, proactive health planning, and healthspan-focused services not typically available in traditional primary care settings.
Can Pillar Healthspan be my primary care physician?
3
Yes. We provide comprehensive adult primary care, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute medical concerns, medication management, and coordination with specialists when needed.
Who is a good fit for Pillar Healthspan?
4
Our practice is designed for adults who value a proactive approach to health, want greater access to their physician, and are interested in optimizing long-term health, performance, and quality of life.
Insurance is designed to pay for covered medical services. It generally does not provide enhanced physician access, proactive health planning, longitudinal health tracking, wearable-data review, or in-depth healthspan assessment.
Pillar Healthspan was created for patients who want a more personalized, preventive, and relationship-driven approach to healthcare while continuing to utilize their insurance benefits for covered medical care.
That single FAQ will probably answer more enrollment objections than any other question on the page.
FAQs
Insurance and Billing
Do you accept insurance?
1
Yes. Covered medical services may be billed to insurance when appropriate.
The annual membership fee covers enhanced access, healthspan-focused services, physician availability, and other non-covered services that are not typically reimbursed by insurance.
Patients remain responsible for any applicable copays, deductibles, or coinsurance associated with covered medical services.
Why is there a membership fee?
2
The membership fee supports services that traditional insurance generally does not reimburse, including enhanced physician access, longitudinal health review, wearable data interpretation, preventive planning, and other healthspan-focused services.
This allows us to maintain a smaller patient panel and provide more personalized care.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
3
Many patients choose to use HSA or FSA funds for eligible medical expenses. We recommend consulting your tax advisor or benefits administrator regarding specific eligibility requirements.
Do I need a wearable device?
4
No. Wearable devices are optional. However, devices such as Apple Watch, Garmin, Oura Ring, or WHOOP can provide useful information regarding activity, sleep, heart rate, and recovery. These are all variables we will help you track regardless of the type of wearable you use and will be addressed whether you have one or not.
